News:

OCT 27: A group of 16-year-olds in Denmark need your help to prepare a report on what's important for young people all over the world! They're asking you all to answer a short survey at http://tiny.cc/HZ0fX before Oct 31. Do NOT miss this chance to help other students, it'll only take a couple of minutes!

OCT 08
: As we're now announcing our wiki in several educational communities with members all over the world, and inviting them to leave comments on our work, I've changed the settings so that threads can be posted anonymously too. I hope this won't mean spam or inappropriate messages, or we'll have to go back to requiring those willing to comment to sign up! Pls let me know immediately if you notice any inappropriate contribution. And remember it's your duty to reply to those comments you get!

SEPT 03
: It is possible to delete threads by clicking on the subject line and then selecting the appropriate option under "Manage this thread". So... don't worry about getting messages you don't like. We can always delete them later! :-) Notice, however, that once deleted there won't be any track of them: pls do NOT delete threads before getting the author or your teacher's consent!!!

By AUG 28TH (Thurs):
Everybody should have commented on a minimum of 2 pages by 2 different partners, and replied to comments received. Be polite!
Also, if your page has been checked, edit mistakes marked. Do you want to make other changes? Go ahead!

General comments:

A. Good webpages should not be longer than 4 screens (this is an unwritten rule). Why? People rarely look below that! So, if your page is too long, you can either:
1. If you've included many images: consider resizing your photos (remember their purpose is to support your text, this is not a photoblog) and choosing the best possible alignment (placing text next to the photo as well as above and below). You can also use Wetpaint widgets for creating a slideshow with your pictures (this has the advantage of adding some movement to your page).
2. If your text is too long: create sub-pages for sections of the content (see John Frusciante's discography as an example), and hyperlink to them from your main page.

B. Choose fonts carefully, thinking of the effect you want to create on your reader. Be systematic in your use of font type, size and colour. It's better to stick to ONE type for main text and variations of that type for titles and subtitles.

Way to go!
