Michael Jeffrey Jordan was born in Brookyln, New York on February 17, 1963. He was the fourth of five children born to James and Deloris. Just after Michael's birth, her parents decided to move Wilmington, North Carolina.

Biography
As a youngster, Michael immediately became interested in sports. In 1978 Michael Jordan was cut from the varsity team. However Michael grew from 5'11" to 6'3" and he played so well in his junior season that he was invited to the the McDonald's All-American Team in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
When Michael Jordan had finished his senior year , he had grown to 6'5" and following high school, he earned a basketball scholarship from North Carolina University and in 1984, Jordan decided to leave North Carolina University to enter the NBA draft. In the Draft, he was selected by the Chicago Bulls. As a rookie for the Bulls, he made an immediate impact, he was selected to the NBA All-Star Game and named Rookie of the Year.
He retired from the NBA preceding the 1993/94 season after the mysterious death of his father. In 1994, Jordan decided to play baseball so he signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox. Then in 1995, Michael Jordan returned to basketball just before the playoffs, but the Bulls unfortunately lost in the playoffs to the Orlando Magic. In 1996, he starred alongside Bugs Bunny in the animated comedy Space Jam. In 1999, he re-announced his retirement and he became part owner of the Washington Wizards. On September 25, 2001, Michael Jordan announced his return to the NBA as a Wizard. He retired for the 2002-03 season and was dismissed as president of the Wizards. In 2006, he became part owner of the Charlotte Bobcats. Then he filed for divorce from Juanita, his wife of 17 years. They have three children together.
