Eric Clapton was born in 1945 in England. His nickname is slow hand and he is a guitarist, singer, songwriter and composer. Although Clapton has played a lot of musical style he always remained in the blues.
Early Years
Clapton grew up with his grandparents in Repley, England because his parents left him when he was two. At the age of nine he discovered that his grandparents weren’t his parents and it was a shock and he grew up quiet and lonely and he was expelled from Kingston College of Art.
He had his first guitar at the age of 14 and he was influenced by the blues.

About his music
He discovered the blues when he listened to Jerry Lee Lewis playing on tv and he fell in love with the music. At the age of 18 he was playing with his first band.
He is considered as an innovator in blues rock (because he was the first who play the blues in England with John Mayall and bluesbreakers) and psicodelic rock (with cream). He has also recorded delta blues, reggae, pop and hard rock.
His influences are Muddy Waters, Albert King, B.B. King, Robert Johnson, Elmore James, Albert Collins, Bob Dylan, J.J. Cale, Chuck Berry, Freddie King, and Big Bill Bronzy
His more important bands are Cream, the Yarbirds, Jhon Mayall and the bluesbreakers, Derek and the Dominos but he also played with the Beatles, Roger Waters, Bob Dylan, JJ Cale, Stevie ray Vaughan and Steve wonder.

In relation with his guitar with the Yardbirds, Clapton played a Fender Telecaster and a 1964 Cherry-Red Gibson ES-335 or a Gibson Firebird. When he record with the Beatles he played a Gibson les Paul. In 1970 he started to play with a fender Stratocaster and he never leave it since 1970.

In the lapse of one year Clapton had two tragedies. First, his friend Stevie Ray Vaughan died in 1990 while he was touring with Clapton. And in1991Connor, who was four years old died. He was the son of Clapton.

Why I admire him?
I admire him because when he was playing with The Yarbirds and he was earning money he decided to leave this band because they played pop and he started to play blues with a new band. He did not think about the money and he only followed his heart.

Any idea about why his parents left Eric with his grandparents, Federico V? That must have been quite difficult to understand for him!
