(Lynn) Lee was born on December 13th, 1981, in Riverside, California.
Her full name is Amy Lynn Lee. She grew with her parents, Sara and John
LeeLee, and her younger sisters and brother: Carrie (18), Lori (17) and Robbie (13). When she was six years old, her sister Bonnie, who was only three years old, died because of an unknown disease. During her carreer, Amy
composed a couple of songs for her dead sister like "Even in death", "Hello" or "Like You".
Music was always Amy's passion. She
learnedstudied the piano for nine years and she sang in her school's
chorus.choir. In 1998 she met the young guitar player Ben Moody
in a campament and decided to form a band with him. David Hodges (keyboard), Rock Gray (Drums) and John LeCompt (guitar)
join them and they all formed
Evanescence."Evanescence". In 2000 they recorded their first demo, Origin. That year, Hodges left the band. In 2003 their first CD "Fallen" sold more than 14.000.000

Evanescence"Evanescence" win two Grammys. In 2004 "Anywhere but home",
which was a DVD of the band, appeared in the stores. The same year, Ben Moody left
Evanescence"Evanescence" after a fight with Amy (they used to be a couple), and Terry Balsamo joined the band. Their second studio CD, "The open door", appeared
on 2006. In 2007, John LeCompt and Rock Gray left the band, too.
Evanescence"Evanescence" is nowadays formed by Amy Lee (the only one original member), Terry Balsamo, Tim McCord, Troy Mclawhorn and Will Hunt.
Amy got married to Josh Hartzler (29) on May 6th, 2007. She confessed that some of her love songs were inspired by him. Now she
call herself "Mrs. Amy Hartzler".
